Desert Tortoise
Gopherus agassizii
Range: Mojave Desert
Threats: Habitat loss due to development. Raven populations follow along with development too, and have an appetite for tortoise hatchlings. The release of pet tortoises in the wild introduces diseases.
Adaptations: They pretty much invented the turtle roll.
